Bangladeshi rock star James, popularly known as the ‘Nagarbaul’, is set to return to the stage in Rome after a 12-year gap, with his much-anticipated concert drawing excitement among expatriate Bangladeshis in the Italian capital.
Ahead of the concert, a special get-together and press conference was held in Rome on Wednesday (12 August).
The event took place at a luxury hotel and was hosted by organiser Hossain Ahmed Moazz.
Bangladeshi journalists working in Italy, sponsors and prominent members of the community attended the event.
James answered questions from journalists and guests and expressed his excitement at getting the opportunity to perform in Rome after more than a decade.
The rock star thanked the organisers for their careful and well-organised preparations for the concert.
During the press conference, James also paid tribute to legendary Bangladeshi musician Ayub Bachchu, who died in 2018.
He spoke about the continued love and support he has received from Bangladeshis living abroad and expressed hope that a new generation of Bangladeshi artists would take Bengali culture even further onto the global stage.
James’ return has already created a festive atmosphere among the Bangladeshi community in Italy.

The organisers said all preparations have been completed to offer expatriate audiences a memorable evening with the celebrated singer.
