After the success of Borbaad, anticipation has been building around actor Shakib Khan and director Mehedi Hasan’s next collaboration.
While several names have surfaced on social media regarding the film’s heroine, multiple sources close to the project claim that Idhika Paul has been finalised as Shakib’s leading lady.
According to the sources, everything has been finalised and only the official announcement remains.
The new film, titled Nissho, is being planned for release during next year’s Eid-ul-Fitr.
The project will mark another collaboration between Shakib and Mehedi Hasan following Borbaad, which was released during last year’s Eid-ul-Fitr and received a strong response from audiences.
The film’s title had also been the subject of speculation, with Nissho and Hyena both being discussed.
However, multiple sources have now confirmed that the film will be made under the title Nissho.
Producer Shehrin Sumi, owner of Real Energy Production, said the title is expected to be officially announced within a week through a teaser.
The teaser will also offer audiences an initial glimpse of the project.
Like Borbaad, Nissho will be an action film. However, director Mehedi Hasan is not yet ready to disclose details about the story or characters.
“We want to finalise the screenplay completely before sharing details about the film,” he said.
Sabila Nur’s name had recently been circulating on social media as a possible choice for the heroine.
The actress has previously worked with Shakib in Tandob and Rockstar, leading many fans to speculate that the pair could reunite.
Asked about the casting, Mehedi Hasan had earlier said, “Our heroine has not been finalised yet. We will announce it soon. I already have someone in mind. Let the discussion continue.”
However, sources close to the production now say Idhika Paul will play the female lead opposite Shakib.
If everything goes according to plan, filming is expected to begin in the final week of October, with Shakib and Idhika.
The production house is already making preparations for the shoot.
Idhika made her mark among audiences in both Bengals with Priyotoma, where she starred opposite Shakib.
The pair reunited in Borbaad, and if she is officially signed for Nissho, the film will become their third project together.
The development has consequently generated interest not only because of the Shakib-Idhika reunion but also because it will be Shakib and Mehedi Hasan’s second collaboration after Borbaad.
Shakib is currently in the United States and is expected to return to Bangladesh next week.
After a short break, he will complete the final shooting schedule of Soldier. He is then expected to begin preparations for Nissho.
