Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has claimed that BNP has become “unnerved” by what he described as increasing public support for Jamaat’s election symbol, the scale.

He added that Islamic political parties aimed to contest the polls through mutual understanding and work toward building a “new Bangladesh” through electoral victory.

Speaking at a student rally at the Shahpur Andulia Football ground in Dumuria upazila of Khulna-5 on Friday morning, Parwar said voters would show a “red card” to corrupt politicians in the next election.

He cautioned that if any group attempts to take over polling stations or manipulate ballots, Jamaat supporters must “secure and hold the centers.” Parwar urged party activists to maintain a presence at polling stations from early morning on election day.
