Consumer electronics maker itel has entered Bangladesh’s air-conditioner market with a locally manufactured DC inverter model, expanding beyond smartphones and smart devices as demand grows for more energy-efficient cooling.
The company says the new air conditioner can reduce electricity consumption by up to 70 per cent by automatically adjusting compressor speed according to cooling demand instead of repeatedly switching the compressor on and off.
The model comes with a 12-year compressor warranty, five years for spare parts and five years of free service support. itel says the inverter technology is designed to provide more stable cooling while potentially extending compressor life.
The air conditioner also features Triple Voltage Care technology, which itel says protects against low and high voltage and sudden fluctuations. A four-way airflow system is designed to distribute cooled air more evenly across a room.
“This air conditioner has been developed by considering local climate conditions, power supply and consumer needs so that reliable, energy-efficient cooling becomes more accessible,” said Donssion, Overseas General Manager of itel.
He said Bangladesh remains one of itel’s most important strategic markets as the company expands its consumer electronics business.
The air conditioner is now open for pre-booking through authorised itel outlets and national retail partners, with market availability expected by late August.
itel has partnered with Carlcare for installation, maintenance and technical support through more than 700 service centres across Bangladesh, giving the company an established after-sales network as it moves into the home appliance market.
The Bangladesh-made air conditioner is the first product under itel’s new consumer electronics portfolio. The brand, part of Transsion Holdings, operates in more than 70 emerging markets and has built a customer base in Bangladesh through smartphones, feature phones, accessories and smart devices.
The company plans to expand its consumer electronics portfolio with more home appliances in the future.
