The graduating Class of 2026 at International School Dhaka (ISD) has secured scholarships worth USD1.7 million to attend universities worldwide, the school said in a press release. The graduation ceremony took place at Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka, where 38 students received their diplomas and celebrated their achievements.
Students from the class have received offers from top universities including University of Sydney, King’s College London, University of Manchester, Monash University, University of Amsterdam, and institutions in the USA, UK, Canada, and Hong Kong. Valedictorian Niyarah Mahbub will pursue a degree in Neurobiology at University of California, San Diego.
Speaking about her journey, Niyarah Mahbub said, “Being part of the ISD community since Playgroup year has made me realise the potential I have to create positive change. My passion for helping people led me to explore neurobiology, a critical field in medical science. I am determined to pursue a career I genuinely love.”
Steve Calland-Scoble, Director of ISD, said, “Watching our students receive their diplomas today is an incredibly proud moment for all of us at ISD. This milestone reflects their hard work, our faculty’s dedication, and the unwavering support of their families,” the press release said.
Special guest Max Tuñón, Country Director of the International Labour Organization in Bangladesh, added, “Education is the foundation for meaningful work and leadership on a global stage. Seeing the ambition and diversity of talent in this room gives me immense hope for the future.”
For more than 25 years, ISD has maintained its position as a premier International Baccalaureate school in Bangladesh. Its alumni network includes 700 individuals from 45 nationalities, many of whom have attended universities across 15 countries.
