Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that its spokesman, General Ali Mohammad Naeini, was killed in an Israeli-US missile strike.
The IRGC vowed that the conflict will continue “until the enemy is completely exhausted,” as regional tensions escalate and bloodshed mounts, Al Jazeera reports.
No details were provided on the exact timing of Naeini’s death or whether it occurred during the waves of strikes reported since midnight, which hit eastern Tehran and other cities including Karaj, Kerman, Bandar Lengeh port, and Kashan.
Naeini, a 68-year-old second brigadier general from Kashan, was appointed IRGC spokesman in 2024. Just hours before his reported death, he appeared on national television declaring, “We have the capacity even in war to produce missiles.”
