The deceased was identified as Md Sumon, 18, son of Md Shahbuddin from Bhola Sadar upazila. He lived with his family in Hazaribagh’s Gonkatuli area.
According to colleagues, Sumon came into contact with a live electric wire while working on an internet line near the Kurarghat electricity office around 8:00pm and lost consciousness.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 9:00pm, where doctors declared him dead.
Sumon’s colleague Al Amin said they immediately took him to the hospital after the incident.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp Inspector Md Faruk said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue and the matter was reported to the concerned police station.
