The government has revised passenger fares for inland water waterway services across the country, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Shipping on Thursday.
Under the revised rates, the fare for the first 100 kilometres has been increased from Tk2.77 to Tk2.95 per kilometre per passenger.
For journeys beyond 100 kilometres, the fare has been raised from Tk2.38 to Tk2.52 per kilometre per passenger.
The minimum passenger fare has also been increased from Tk29 to Tk32.
