Within 24 hours, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to raise gold prices once more. This time, the price of 22‑carat gold has been increased by Tk2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new rate at Tk244,711.
BAJUS announced the adjustment in a notice on Thursday morning. The new prices will take effect from 10am.
Under the new rates, 21‑carat gold will cost Tk233,572 per bhori, 18‑carat gold Tk202,213, and traditional gold Tk163,063.
Just a day earlier, on 6 May, BAJUS had raised prices by Tk2,158 per bhori, fixing 22‑carat gold at Tk242,495, 21‑carat at Tk231,472, 18‑carat at Tk198,405, and traditional gold at Tk161,605. Those rates took effect from 10am the same day.
BAJUS so far this year adjusted gold prices 63 times, raising them 35 times and cutting them 28 times. In 2025, the association revised prices 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 reductions.
