Veteran Bangladeshi actor Ilias Kanchan is set to return to London for further medical treatment as he continues his recovery from a brain tumour.
Actress Rozina shared the update after visiting Kanchan at his residence in Gulshan, Dhaka.
In a Facebook post, she said the veteran actor is gradually recovering but has not yet made a full recovery.
“I recently visited veteran actor Kanchan at his Gulshan residence after he returned from London,” Rozina wrote. “He has not fully recovered yet. Inshallah, he will regain his health very soon.”
According to Rozina, Kanchan will travel back to London on 12 August for follow-up treatment, in line with the advice of his medical team.
She also revealed that the actor is being cared for by his wife Farida, his son, daughter and son-in-law, who have remained by his side throughout his illness.
Requesting prayers from fans and well-wishers, Rozina wrote, “Please pray for Kanchan. May Almighty Allah grant him a speedy recovery.”
The veteran actor returned to Bangladesh earlier this week after spending more than 15 months in the United Kingdom receiving treatment. He arrived in Dhaka at 5:10pm on Monday (3 August), accompanied by his wife and son-in-law.
Speaking briefly to reporters at the airport’s VIP terminal upon his arrival, Kanchan said, “I have returned home. I seek the prayers of the people of my country. I always pray for everyone.”
