The International Cricket Council has provisionally suspended USA batter Aaron Jones from all forms of cricket with immediate effect. The action follows charges linked to alleged fixing in the Barbados based BIM10 league during the 2023 to 24 season.
The ICC said Jones has also been charged for failing to report a corrupt approach and for not cooperating with the investigation. This suspension is temporary and not a final ban. Jones has been given 14 days from January 28, 2026 to respond to the charges.
In a statement, the ICC confirmed that Jones faces five charges under the anti corruption codes of Cricket West Indies and the ICC. Most of the charges relate to the BIM10 tournament, which falls under the Cricket West Indies code. Two other charges are linked to international matches and fall under the ICC code.
The ICC said one of the charges involves fixing or attempting to fix matches in the BIM10 tournament. This includes influencing the result, progress, or conduct of games in an improper manner.
Another charge relates to Jones failing to disclose details of approaches or invitations that could lead to corruption. A third charge concerns his failure to cooperate with a formal investigation by anti corruption officials. The remaining two charges relate to obstructing the ICC Anti Corruption Unit investigation.
The ICC added that the case is part of a wider investigation. More charges against other individuals could follow in the future.
Aaron Jones is a 31 year old cricketer born in New York. He has represented the United States in 52 one day internationals and 48 T20 matches. His last appearance for the national team came in April last year.
