Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has issued a stern directive to ensure that police stations across the country, including those in the capital, are made entirely free of middlemen.
The minister delivered these instructions on Saturday afternoon during an inspection of the Ramna Model Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), while addressing senior police officials and relevant personnel.
During the inspection, the minister reviewed various sections of the police station, including the lock-up, and assessed its overall condition.
The home minister interacted with the Officer-in-Charge (OC), duty officers, and other police personnel on duty to enquire about their welfare and listened attentively to the various professional challenges they face.
He instructed the police members and relevant officials to provide services to the general public with honesty, integrity and dedication.
The home minister also warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any police member if allegations of negligence of duty or corruption are proven against them.
