Import and export activities at Hili Land Port resumed on Saturday after a three-day suspension linked to the 13th National Parliamentary Election and a weekly holiday.
Operations returned to normal by 3:30 pm, said Md Abdur Rahman, administrative officer of Panama Port Limited.
The shutdown from 11 February to 13 February had disrupted the movement of goods between Bangladesh and India, officials said.
Several trucks carrying imported corn, spices and fruits entered Bangladesh from India on Saturday afternoon, and unloading is underway, said M Zaman, superintendent of Hili Land Port Customs.
Md Yusuf Ali, plant quarantine officer at Hili Land Port, said import and export activities restarted at 12:30 pm, with Indian trucks entering the port and goods being transferred to domestic vehicles for distribution nationwide.
Ferdous Rahman, president of the Hili C&F Agents Association, said the brief suspension had affected trade flows, but goods are now moving again through the port.
Officials expect trade between the two countries to continue at its usual pace following the reopening.
