Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in five divisions over the next 24 hours from 9am, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.
Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, according to a Met office bulletin.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions, the bulletin said.
Day temperatures may fall slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 35.4 degrees Celsius in Jashore.
The lowest temperature was 19 degrees Celsius in Nikli and Narayanganj.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was 160 millimetres in Nikli.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:26pm and rise at 5:25am.
