Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called upon students to show love and care for all animals alongside protecting nature and the environment.
“As the best of creation, it is the duty of human beings to take care of trees and animals. Show compassion to animals without harming any of them,” the prime minister said.
He said this on Thursday during a meeting at National Parliament with students from Puthia Girls’ High School in Rajshahi, Savar High Girls’ School in Dhaka, Tejgaon Mohila College, and Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy and College in Tongi.
Tarique urged students to plant more trees and keep their surroundings clean and free from pollution. He emphasized the importance of building a habit of responsible behaviour towards nature, the environment, and animals from childhood.

Alongside their academic studies, he urged students to regularly participate in sports and cultural activities.
As part of cultural pursuits, he encouraged them to take part in singing, poetry recitation, drawing, and playing musical instruments, while also advising them to practise Qira’at.
Highlighting the necessity of sports for physical and mental development, the prime minister said regular sports maintain physical health while fostering discipline, self-confidence, concentration, and a teamwork mindset.

The delegation visiting National Parliament comprised 36 female students from Classes 6 to 10 and eight teachers from Puthia Girls’ High School, alongside 50 female students from Classes 6 to 10 and four teachers from Savar High Girls’ School.
In addition, 46 female students from Class 12 and 11 teachers from Tejgaon Mohila College, as well as 47 students from Classes 8 to 12 and six teachers from Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy and College, came to the parliament building on the day.
During their visit, they witnessed the parliamentary session.
Expressing their delight at having the opportunity to meet and speak directly with the prime minister, the students shared that his advice and guidance had inspired them, adding that the meeting would remain a memorable event in their lives.
