A video released on Saturday shows Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro under US custody at the headquarters of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New York.
The clip, shared on X by Rapid Response 47, the White House’s official rapid response account, captures Maduro being escorted through the DEA’s lower Manhattan offices by agency officers.
In the video, the 63-year-old appears in handcuffs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, as he walks along a corridor with a blue carpet marked “DEA NYD.”
As he passes officials inside the building, Maduro can be heard offering brief remarks, saying “good night” and “Happy New Year.”
