Bangladesh’s national football team will face Nepal in a friendly before their AFC Asian Cup qualifier against India, with midfielder Hamza Chowdhury arriving in Dhaka five hours later than planned due to travel delays. Hamza, set to land at noon on Monday 10 November from England, will now arrive at 5pm after missing his original flight because of heavy traffic en route to the airport.
According to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) sources, a ticket had been provided to Hamza, but he booked a new flight himself to reach Dhaka, resulting in the delay. The national team has no training session scheduled for Monday, and Hamza will rest upon arrival.
Another overseas player, Samit Som, is scheduled to arrive from Canada on Tuesday 11 November and will have a single day of training ahead of the friendly against Nepal on 13 November.
Bangladesh will then face India on 18 November at the National Stadium in their AFC Asian Cup qualifying match, following a goalless draw in the away leg in Shillong under coach Javier Cabrera.
