Grameenphone (GP) has appointed Abul Kasem Mohiuddin Al-Amin as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective September 1, 2026, as the telecom operator moves to strengthen network excellence, digital innovation and technology-led transformation.
Al-Amin will lead Grameenphone’s technology division, focusing on delivering world-class connectivity and improved customer experiences, the company said in a press release. He brings nearly 23 years of leadership experience across Grameenphone and the wider Telenor Group, with expertise spanning network planning and deployment, operations, procurement and technology transformation.
Before taking the CTO role, Al-Amin served as Senior Director and Head of Network Services at Grameenphone, where he was responsible for network planning and deployment. He previously served as Chief Procurement Officer, leading the company’s sourcing strategy and procurement operations.
His international experience includes serving as Vice President and Programme Director for Telenor India’s network transformation programme, where he led large-scale transformation initiatives. During his career at Grameenphone, he has also held key leadership positions including Head of Regional Operations, Head of Partner Management and Head of Operational Excellence & Efficiency.

Azman said Grameenphone had already started its journey to become a more technology-driven and future-ready organisation, strengthening its capabilities to lead in the data market and serve evolving digital needs of customers. He added that Al-Amin’s leadership would help advance the transformation, strengthen technology capabilities and improve customer experiences.
Al-Amin said he was honoured to take on the role of Chief Technology Officer at Grameenphone after nearly 23 years with the organisation. He said he looked forward to working with teams and partners to strengthen the company’s technology foundation, accelerate transformation and deliver secure, reliable and future-ready connectivity for customers in Bangladesh.
As part of his leadership development journey within the Telenor Group, Al-Amin has completed the Telenor Accelerate Leadership Programme, Telenor Accelerate Change Excellence Programme and Telenor Core Leadership Programme. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and an Executive MBA in Finance from North South University. He has also completed a Management Development Programme at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
