State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Chowdhury has said that the government is taking steps to ensure the proper flow of information in the country and to prevent misinformation and disinformation.
He said, “We want accurate and truthful information to reach the people, so that confusion does not spread and trust in the media is further strengthened.”
The state minister said these things in his speech as the chief guest at an exchange meeting held at the BSRAF office, organised by the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRAF) at the Secretariat today.
The state minister informed that the media is being made more modern and effective by strengthening the digitalisation process. He said, “Work will be done to improve the quality of services and reform various policies, taking into consideration the advice of all relevant parties.”
The state minister called upon media workers to constructively point out any errors or mistakes, saying that this would benefit both the government and the people. He emphasised moving towards the future while avoiding the repetition of past issues.
The event, moderated by BSRAF General Secretary Ubaidullah Badal, was attended by Chief Information Officer Yakub Ali, BSRAF President Masudul Haque, and journalists working at the Secretariat.
