In a bid to strengthen national defense, the government will provide karate and firearms training to young men and women, announced Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan.
In two posts on his verified Facebook page, he stated that a total of 8,850 participants will initially receive training across seven centres in the country. The trainees will undergo instruction in karate, judo, taekwondo, and firearms handling.
Eligibility for training: Bangladeshi citizens aged between 18 and 35 (male/female), Minimum qualification: SSC pass, and they must be physically and mentally fit.
Selected trainees will be provided with accommodation, meals, tracksuits, T-shirts, and sneakers by BKSP. In addition, participants who successfully complete the training will receive a daily allowance of Tk300 – totaling Tk 4,200 and a certificate upon completion.
The 15-day basic self-defense training programme is set to begin on 22 November 2025. Training for female participants will be conducted only at BKSP Dhaka.
