The interim government has announced a nationwide call for prayers seeking the early recovery of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
The government urged all mosques across the country to hold special dua after Jumma prayers on Friday, said the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Thursday.
Places of worship of every faith, including temples, churches and pagodas, have similarly been requested to hold prayers in line with their own religious customs.
The government has also appealed to citizens from all sectors of society to pray for quick recovery of Khaleda Zia, also three-time former prime minister.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus visited Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital in the capital on Wednesday evening.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the chief adviser was received by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir; Khaleda Zia’s personal physicians Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain and Professor Shahabuddin Talukder; her younger son’s wife Syeda Shamila Rahman; and her younger brother Shamim Iskander.
