Gold prices have decreased and the price of 22-carat gold dropped by Tk4,432 per bhori (11.664 grams) to stand at Tk2,18,350.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price through a press release on Thursday.
The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk2,08,436 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk1,78,692, and traditional method gold at Tk1,45,508.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a fall in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.
The notice further said 5 per cent VAT and a minimum wage of 6 per cent must be added to the selling price of gold. The wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
Meanwhile, silver prices have also decreased by Tk58 and 22‑carat silver is selling at Tk4,841 per bhori, 21‑carat at Tk4,607, 18‑carat at Tk3,966, and traditional silver at Tk2,974.
