The SSC pass rate under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Cumilla stood at 65.42 per cent this year, with 9,814 students achieving GPA‑5.
Shafiqul Islam, controller of examinations, said the performance was satisfactory compared with last year.
He added that the overall pass rate could have been higher if students had done better in Mathematics and English.
According to SSC data, 147,225 students sat for the exams under the board this year. Of them, 95,399 passed and 51,826 failed.
Among the GPA‑5 achievers, 5,848 are girls and 3,966 are boys.
A total of 24 institutions under the board achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, while none recorded a zero per cent pass rate.
In all, 1,823 schools from six districts took part in the SSC examinations under Cumilla Board.
