The average pass rate and the number of students securing GPA-5 in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have both declined.
According to official data, the average pass rate in the nine general education boards stood at 64.05 per cent this year, down 3.99 percentage points from last year’s 68.04 per cent.
The number of students achieving the top grade of GPA-5 under the boards also fell to 106,009, compared with 125,018 candidates last year.
Taking into account the results of all 11 education boards including the Madrasa and Technical boards, the collective average pass rate stood at 62.25 per cent.
A total of 116,676 students achieved GPA-5 across all 11 boards.
The results of the 2026 SSC and equivalent exams were published simultaneously online and at the respective educational institutions around 10am Monday.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon inaugurated the result-publishing activities at an event organised at the Ministry of Education in the capital.
