Police recovered body of a mobile tower security guard with his hands and feet tied inside a tower room in the Pubail area of Gazipur city.
The deceased, Mir Altap Hossain, 65, was found dead on Monday morning inside the tower room located in Meghdubi Doctor Bari area. He had long been working as the security guard of the cell-phone network tower.
According to police and the family, officials of the tower-operating company contacted Altap Hossain’s family when they failed to reach him in the morning.
His son Sabuj went to the tower site and discovered his father’s body tied up on the floor.
Pubail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Molla Md Khalid Hasan said the body was found with the hands and feet tied.
“We have visited the scene and are investigating the incident from all possible angles. The body has been sent to Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem,” he said.
The motive behind the killing is still unknown, and no one has been arrested so far.
Police have launched an investigation to identify those involved in the murder and determine the reason behind it, the OC added.
