Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP secretary general and local government minister, said the electoral pledges of the new government have begun to materialise within just one month of assuming office.
The minister made these remarks while exchanging views on contemporary issues with journalists at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan.
Fakhrul noted that global complications frequently arise whenever the BNP takes power, pointing to the current Iran-Israel war as a significant recent challenge.
He however added that due to the government’s competence, no fuel crisis has emerged in the country, and fuel prices have remained stable.
He further noted that despite the ongoing global crisis, the government successfully ensured that salaries for workers in the garment sector were paid on time.
Regarding internal party matters, the Secretary General stated that while BNP activities are currently being conducted on a limited scale, a party council will be held within this year.
Addressing administrative plans, Fakhrul added that work regarding local government elections is progressing rapidly. The government intends to complete these elections as soon as possible within the current year.
