Legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who died at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday, will be cremated with full state honours at 4pm on Monday. She was 92.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will attend her funeral at Shivaji Park in the city.

Her body was taken to her Lower Parel residence on Sunday evening. Fans and well-wishers will pay their last respects at 11am today at her home. The body will remain there until 3pm.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to hospital on Saturday night. Her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle said in an X post that she was being treated for chest infection and severe exhaustion.

The iconic singer, known for timeless numbers such as Aaiye Meherbaan, Kajra Mohabbat Wala, Jaiye Aap Kahan Jayenge, Le Gayi Le Gayi and Kahin Aag Lage, died due to multiple organ failure.

Her sudden death has sent shockwaves across the Indian film industry. Several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Shreya Ghoshal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ram Gopal Varma, Vicky Kaushal, Anu Malik, Kamal Haasan and Jr NTR, have expressed condolences.
