Bangladeshi singer Baby Nazneen paid an emotional tribute to Asha Bhosle, recalling her collaboration with the late singer in the early 2000s for the album ‘Duti Mon Ek Pran’, produced by Salim Khan.
Sharing her memories via a Facebook post, she described the experience of recording alongside the legendary singer as unforgettable.
“She was not just a legend, she was music itself,” Naznin wrote, adding that every moment in the studio remains deeply etched in her memory. She said Bhosle’s humility matched her extraordinary talent, noting that she performed each song with the same dedication as if it were her first and last.
Naznin also highlighted Asha Bhosle’s prolific career, stating that she recorded more than 12,000 songs across multiple languages and genres over eight decades. “The world has lost its most versatile and beloved voice, but her songs will live on for generations,” she added.
Asha Bhosle had been admitted to hospital following reports of ill health. While initial reports suggested a heart-related complication, her granddaughter later clarified that she had been admitted due to extreme fatigue and a chest infection.
One of India’s most versatile and prolific vocalists, Asha Bhosle built a career spanning more than seven decades. Born on September 8, 1933, in Maharashtra into the acclaimed Mangeshkar family, she began singing at a young age and initially worked in smaller film productions before establishing herself in mainstream cinema.
