The fuel tanker MT Yuan Jing He, carrying 27,300 metric tonnes of diesel, arrived from Singapore and docked at Chattogram Port on Friday at around 2pm, reinforcing the country’s ongoing fuel supply.
Senior officials of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) were present at the port to oversee the vessel’s arrival, and the unloading process began promptly after berthing.
BPC sources confirmed that such import operations are carried out regularly to ensure uninterrupted energy supply and maintain stability in the nation’s fuel distribution system.
According to the port’s Marine Department, several other vessels carrying gas oil (diesel) also arrived on Friday from Singapore and Malaysia. One of these ships has already anchored at the Dolphin Oil Jetty of Chattogram Port.
Earlier, on April 2, an LNG-carrying vessel arrived from the United States and is currently anchored at the Kutubdia anchorage area of the port. Another LPG-carrying vessel, coming from China, is scheduled to arrive on April 4.
These shipments reflect ongoing efforts to sustain energy security and meet the country’s fuel demand amid growing consumption.
