The Gazipur administration suspended four officials and employees of the Kashimpur Union Land Office on Monday morning following allegations of various irregularities.
The decision was taken by Gazipur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Nurul Karim Bhuiyan after he found preliminary evidence of misconduct during a surprise inspection.
During the visit, the DC observed the activities of office staff and spoke with members of the public who had come to receive services. After reviewing their complaints and assessing the overall situation, the allegations of irregularities were found to have initial merit.
Following this, Wazed Ali Khan, acting union land assistant officer; Mostafa Kamal, office assistant; Shafiqul Islam Khan, office assistant; and Abdul Halim, office assistant, were placed under temporary suspension.
After completing the inspection at Kashimpur, the DC also visited the Shafipur Land Office to monitor its activities.
Confirming the disciplinary action, DC Md Nurul Karim Bhuiyan said the district administration maintains a strict stance against irregularities and corruption in land offices.
He added that such inspections and monitoring would continue to ensure transparent and harassment free services for the public.
