Five people died of dengue in Khulna division in the past 24 hours, according to the latest health department report.
The new fatalities bring the division’s death toll this year to 44.
During the same period, 276 fresh patients were admitted to hospitals — 188 in government facilities and 88 in private hospitals.
Since 1 January, Khulna division has recorded 12,302 dengue cases. Of them, 10,818 have recovered, while 1,141 remain under treatment.
Another 299 patients have been referred elsewhere for advanced care.
District‑wise figures show Khulna has the highest infection rate, with 4,662 cases so far. Khulna Medical College Hospital alone has identified 2,561 patients.
