Four more people have died showing symptoms of measles in the past 24 hours, while 1,285 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, health authorities said on Friday.
The figures were released in a press statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room.
According to the DGHS, the total number of measles-related deaths since 15 March has risen to 49. During the same period, measles-symptoms deaths have reached 231.
The health authority also reported 115 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections since 15 March to 5,146.
Officials said surveillance and treatment activities are ongoing as infections continue to be reported in different parts of the country.
