The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested BM Mozammel Haque, organizing secretary of the central executive committee of the currently suspended Awami League and former MP for Shariatpur-1 constituency, during an operation in the capital’s Niketan area.
On Sunday, around 2:45pm, a team from the DB-Gulshan Division conducted a raid in the Niketan area based on confidential information and arrested him.
Sources from the DB further revealed that information has been found regarding eight cases within the Dhaka Metropolitan area against the arrested BM Mozammel Haque, including murder cases related to the anti-discrimination movement.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individual are underway.
