Six flights that had diverted their routes due to dense fog and landed at Sylhet’s Osmani International Airport have returned to Dhaka.
Sylhet Osmani International Airport Director Hafiz Ahmed said the flights returned to Shahjalal Airport after the fog eased.
He said that due to fog, six international flights from Dhaka landed in Sylhet at different times from Sunday morning. There was also Biman’s own international flight. After the fog cleared, these flights returned to Dhaka.
Earlier on Sunday morning, the flights had landed in Sylhet after being unable to land at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport because of reduced runway visibility.
Airport authorities said that because of dense fog, six flights from Dhaka landed at Sylhet’s Osmani International Airport, one flight landed at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, India, and another at Hanoi Airport in Vietnam.
