Five emerging Bangladeshi entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas to more than 100 investors on Saturday at an event organised by Light of Hope Ventures at the Interactive Learning Centre in Dhanmondi.
The session — designed to connect founders with potential backers — brought together investors, startup teams and industry supporters in one of the largest community-driven pitch gatherings this year, according to a media release.
The companies presenting at the event included Bangladesh Supply Chain Solutions (BSCS), TYLO, Green Grocery, Protein Market and ICE. Each team showcased its business model, responded to investor questions and outlined strategies for expansion.
Waliullah Bhuiyan, founder of Light of Hope Ventures, said, “The turnout for our first event exceeded expectations. Individual investors are increasingly interested in startups and are actively seeking new opportunities.”
He said the platform aims to give entrepreneurs direct access to investors, constructive feedback and long-term collaboration opportunities. Beginning this month, the organisation will host similar pitch sessions on the last Saturday of every month featuring five to seven startups.
“Our mission is to build a platform where entrepreneurs can share ideas, collaborate, and achieve real results,” Bhuiyan added.
Light of Hope Ventures describes itself as a “Y Combinator for Bangladeshi SMEs,” supporting ventures across agriculture, education, manufacturing, services and technology. Its community includes more than 1,000 startups and SME entrepreneurs across eight sectors, offering them mentorship, investment support and market linkages.
Supported by Grofin, Saturday’s event highlighted promising innovations and injected fresh energy into Bangladesh’s growing startup ecosystem, encouraging new partnerships between founders and investors
