Popular Bangladeshi singer Fahmida Nabi and music director Sajib Das are set to collaborate on an ambitious musical project, with the duo preparing to release 40 new songs for listeners.
Audio recording for all 40 songs has recently been completed, while work on their music videos is now underway.
Fahmida said the songs will be released gradually.
The first song from the collection will be Bhalobasha Chaite Gele, written by Golam Morshed.
Filming for the song’s video has already been completed and it is expected to be released soon on the Gaan Janala YouTube channel.
Speaking about the project, Fahmida said Sajib, a disciple of the late Lucky Akhand, is deeply passionate about music but prefers to work away from the spotlight.
“Sajib is a quietly passionate musician who prefers to work behind the scenes rather than seek publicity. We have a wonderful musical understanding, and both of us are very hopeful about these 40 songs,” she said.
Sajib said Fahmida’s trust in him was one of the biggest achievements of his career.
“Having an accomplished singer like Fahmida apa place her trust in me is the greatest achievement of my career. I always try to create the best melodies for her. I hope these new songs will also touch the hearts of listeners,” he said.
The duo have previously released 20 songs together, both composed and performed by them.
Their collaboration has received a positive response from listeners, with Chokher Karnishe—released in 2019—becoming particularly popular.
Their other songs include Bhul Kore Bhalobeshechhi, Bakul Champa, Mukti Aloy, Megh Hoye Lukao and Chokher Jole.
With another 40 songs now in the pipeline, the Fahmida-Sajib collaboration promises an extensive new collection for music lovers.
