European Standard School (ESS) organised a vaccination awareness session for students on Thursday, marking World Immunisation Week 2026 with a focus on building a healthier future through timely immunisation.

The school said the programme, titled “Vaccination for All”, was held at its Dhanmondi campus for middle section students to highlight the role of vaccines in protecting public health.

Present at the session were ESS Principal Md Morshedul Islam, Director Nasrin Jahan, Abdullah, and Ronodeb Dasgupta.

Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital Professor and Chief Consultant Professor Khaled Noor attended as the keynote speaker.

“Vaccination is an effective and proven way to prevent infectious diseases,” he said.

“A disease-free society can be built through timely immunisation,” he added.

Highlighting adolescent health, he said vaccines at this stage provide individual protection while strengthening community immunity.

Key vaccines recommended for teenagers include tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap), human papillomavirus (HPV), hepatitis B, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), and influenza when necessary.

He also said school-based awareness initiatives can increase vaccine uptake among students and help build a healthier generation.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Synovia Pharma PLC Senior Assistant Manager of Marketing Tasfin Mostafa from the vaccine division.
