England went into the break locked at 0-0 with Panama in their final Group L match of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel’s side enjoyed more possession but once again struggled to create clear chances. Marcus Rashford came closest for England. He headed over from a cross before curling a late free kick just wide of the target.

Panama also looked dangerous on the counter. Jose Luis Rodriguez forced Jordan Pickford into a fine save, while Harvey sent another effort wide.

England lacked quality in the final third, with Bukayo Saka unable to make a big impact in the opening 45 minutes. Tuchel was seen speaking to Rashford during the hydration break as he looked to spark his attack.

The goalless score leaves England second in Group L at half-time because Croatia lead Ghana 1-0 in the other group match. If both results remain unchanged, England will finish runners-up and face a tougher route in the knockout stage.

Tuchel still has several attacking options on the bench as England search for the goal they need after the break.
