A team of engineers along with essential spare parts has reached Italy to repair the Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG‑306 aircraft, which has been stranded at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport due to technical glitch.
The team travelled on Biman’s BG‑305 flight, which landed at Fiumicino at 19:16 local time on Saturday (23:16 Bangladesh time).
According to Biman sources, the initiative was taken to make the stranded Boeing 777‑300ER aircraft operational as quickly as possible.
The BG‑305 flight carrying the engineers and spare parts departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 13:53 local time on Saturday.
Biman authorities said technical work began immediately after the team’s arrival in Rome. Once the engineers complete repairs, the aircraft will be ready to resume operations.
Passengers stranded in Rome are expected to return to Bangladesh by Sunday.
