Emirates has launched its “Travel Rehearsal” programme at Denpasar International Airport, extending its accessibility initiative for children with autism and sensory sensitivities.
The airline said the programme, first introduced in Dubai in 2024 with 30 families, forms part of its “Accessible Travel for All” strategy and has since expanded to Barcelona, Brisbane, Manila, Madrid and Toronto.
At Denpasar, 17 participants, including eight children with autism and their guardians, took part in a guided end-to-end airport simulation covering check-in, security screening, boarding, inflight experience, arrival procedures and baggage claim.
The rehearsal was designed to familiarise families with the full travel process in a structured environment to build confidence ahead of future journeys.
Emirates said more than 30,000 cabin crew and ground staff have completed specialised autism and sensory-awareness training to support neurodiverse passengers.
The airline also promotes awareness of neurodiversity through curated content on its inflight entertainment system, ice.
Emirates said it plans to roll out the Travel Rehearsal programme across its global network to make air travel more predictable and inclusive for passengers.
