The upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr public holidays may be extended further, as a proposal to this effect has been submitted to the Cabinet Division.
A final decision regarding the extension is expected to be reached during the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday.
Pending the sighting of the moon, Eid-ul-Fitr is anticipated to fall on Saturday, 21 March. Based on this tentative date, the Ministry of Public Administration had previously designated a five-day holiday period spanning from Thursday, 19 March to Monday, 23 March.
Under the existing schedule, 21 March is a general public holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. Additionally, the days preceding the festival (19 and 20 March) and the days following it (22 and 23 March) have been declared holidays through an executive order.
