The Election Commission (EC) has transferred 23 officials at the upazila level as part of its preparations for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
A circular in this regard was issued on Saturday by EC’s assistant secretary Mohammad Shahidur Rahman.
According to the notification, 21 election officers and two upazila election officers have been transferred to different upazilas until further notice. The order, issued in the public interest, has taken immediate effect.
The EC aims to announce the election schedule in the first half of December and hold the polls in the first half of February.
As part of its pre-election preparations, the commission has begun reshuffling field offices. Earlier, more than a hundred officials had already been transferred.
