Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, the Amir of Islamic Andolon Bangladesh and Charmonai Pir, has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU).
In a message issued this afternoon, the Charmonai Pir hailed the victory as a triumph for Islam and emphasized that the DUCSU election has instilled hope and anticipation among the public for the upcoming national elections.
“The victory in the DUCSU elections will certainly have a profound impact on the national polls,” he remarked, adding that the deep-rooted love for religion and the central role of faith in daily life are part of the thousand-year-old tradition and culture of Bangladesh.
Mufti Rezaul Karim noted that the election has established a platform for free, impartial, and independent voting in the country.
“The nation had long been distanced from a proper electoral culture, and the younger generation was deprived of the opportunity to vote,” he said. “In this context, the DUCSU election has become a beacon of hope for the people.”
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Dhaka University administration, the university students, and the interim government for successfully organizing the DUCSU elections.
The Charmonai Pir also offered his congratulations to all the candidates, both from various panels and as independents, who contested in the elections.
