Niaz Ahmed Khan, the vice-chancellor of Dhaka University, has submitted his resignation letter.
He formally handed over the letter to Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon at 10am on Sunday.
The matter was confirmed to TIMES of Bangladesh by Mohammad Firoz Shah, the protocol officer to the vice-chancellor.
