A total of 9,80,815 online applicants have been selected for admission to Class XI at colleges and madrasas for the 2026-27 academic session.
The first-phase admission results were published on Wednesday at 8pm. 2,205 students with GPA-5 were not allotted seats despite submitting applications, while another 14,415 applicants also failed to secure placement.
According to sources at the Dhaka Education Board, no students applied to 11 colleges, while 416 colleges received applications but were not allocated any students. A total of 8,180 educational institutions were eligible for admission this year.
Around 10 lakh students applied for Class XI admission nationwide, while nearly 25 lakh seats are available in colleges and madrasas combined.
Online applications opened on 2 September with an application fee of Tk220. Admissions are being conducted strictly on merit based on SSC and equivalent examination results, with no admission test this year.
Applicants could apply to a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 colleges or equivalent institutions. They could modify their college preference order until 8pm on 12 and 13 September.
Migration results based on students’ preferences will be released at 8pm on 19 September, followed by the main admission process from 20 to 22 September.
Under Ministry of Education policy, no educational institution can issue a transfer certificate (TC) or admit students without prior permission from the board.
Admitting students to unauthorised branches or subjects may result in the cancellation of a college’s teaching permission, academic recognition or Monthly Pay Order (MPO) enlistment.
The SSC and equivalent examination results were published on 10 August. A total of 18,29,485 candidates sat for the examinations under 11 education boards, of whom more than 11.44 lakh passed.
