Two people were killed when a bus rammed into a human hauler, locally known as a Leguna, in Jatrabari area of the capital on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Azizul Islam, 45, and Saiful Islam, 55.
According to police, a bus of Bahadur Shah Transport hit the Leguna head-on while it was dropping off passengers in the Ghantighar area. Three passengers sustained serious injuries.
Passersby rushed the injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Azizul and Saiful dead.
Md Salauddin, sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station, said the bus was seized following the accident and its driver taken into custody.
