The authorities have announced that the Dhaka University Metro Rail Station will remain closed for two hours on Thursday.
No trains will stop at this station from 1:30pm to 3:30pm due to unavoidable reasons, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) confirmed in a statement.
Meanwhile, at the same time, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 at Suhrawardy Udyan and the Bangla Academy premises adjacent to the DU Metro Station.
Officials said the decision to close the station was taken to avoid unnecessary crowding and to ensure the safety of guests during the event.
