DU campus heats up as JCD accuses Shibir of vote rigging

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a protest march on the Dhaka University campus, accusing Islami Chhatra Shibir of vote rigging in the Ducsu elections.

JCD, the student wing of BNP, made the allegation of vote rigging against Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, when counting of votes is underway.

The JCD members raised slogans “Vote rigging, vote rigging, Jamaat-Shibir, vote rigging.”

The protestors voiced their frustration over alleged electoral fraud and called for action against those responsible.

JCD-backed candidate Abidul Islam Khan warned that they will resist any attempt to temper the Ducsu election results.

The Ducsu election was held in almost peaceful atmosphere with 78.33 per cent votes casted in the polls on Tuesday.

All eyes are now fixed on the Ducsu election with vote countering underway.
