Three more people died from suspected and confirmed measles infections in the past 24 hours, raising the country’s reported death toll to 994 since 15 March, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 1,043 suspected measles cases and 55 confirmed cases were reported nationwide, according to a bulletin issued by the Health Service Division’s Integrated Control Centre.
Since 15 March, the country has recorded 164,148 suspected measles cases and 19,696 confirmed cases, the bulletin said.
Of the 994 deaths reported so far, 894 were among suspected cases and 100 among confirmed cases.
Chattogram, Khulna and Sylhet divisions reported one death each in the latest 24-hour period.
At the district level, one death each was recorded in Cumilla, Moulvibazar and Khulna.
Dhaka division reported the highest number of suspected cases during the period, with 397, followed by Chattogram with 238 and Sylhet with 120.
Barishal reported 116 cases, Khulna 85, Mymensingh 48, Rajshahi 26 and Rangpur 13.
Meanwhile, 954 patients were admitted to hospitals over the 24-hour period, while 851 recovered and were discharged.
The country has exceeded its target under the National Measles-Rubella Campaign 2026, according to the DGHS data.
Across the eight divisions, 1,97,12,211 people received vaccines against a target of 1,80,15,064, representing 109.5 per cent coverage.
In city corporation areas, 20,67,341 people were vaccinated against a target of 19,05,950, bringing coverage to 108.5 per cent.
Gazipur City Corporation recorded the highest coverage, at 115.4 per cent.
