The overseas run of Eid release ‘Domm’, featuring Afran Nisho and Puja Cherry, continues to gather momentum following its domestic success.
The film has now entered its third week in major North American cities including New York, Toronto and San Francisco, with further screenings being added across the US.
Distributor Raj Hamid, chief executive of Bioscope Films, confirmed the expansion in a social media update on Wednesday. He noted that the film, directed by Redoan Rony, is set to open in Virginia from next week, with a special screening scheduled at Cine Arts Theatre in Fairfax on May 3. The event is being organised by Bangla Events, with tickets available online.
Plans are also underway to introduce the film to additional cities such as Seattle, San Diego, Reno, Orlando, Buffalo and Sacramento through limited screenings. For the first time, Domm will reach audiences in Central California, with arrangements being made for shows in Fresno, targeting viewers from surrounding areas including Merced and Modesto.
Meanwhile, growing demand in the San Francisco region has prompted further screenings, with additional shows planned at Maya Cinemas.
Hamid also reflected on personal challenges he faced while continuing his work, noting that audience support has been a source of encouragement.
He expressed confidence in the film’s team and credited viewers for sustaining its success abroad, while urging continued backing for Bangla cinema in international markets.
